In Volgograd, protesters demand to build access roads to their houses

Today in Volgograd, 200 residents of the houses located in Morozov Street of the Dzerzhinsk District of the city held a protest against the absence of access roads to their houses.

The rally was organized by the Volgograd public advocacy organization named "Public Independent Inspection".

"At the rally, we collected signatures to the petition addressed to the Governor and dealing with our problems. They had promised to build roads to the shopping centre 'Komsomoll' and lyceum No. 9. We have an asphalted band around the house; then – a ground road. When it rained, a tenant family tried to take their child to the lyceum, but a child stuck in the mud; they pulled the boy out of his boots and carried further on hands. During a thaw, even offroaders get stuck in the mud," Roman Berezhnoy, a resident of No. 9, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Today, tenants of the houses in question also held a procession. They walked for 400 meters on the dirt road to the shopping centre "Komsomoll" and 500 meters from Moskovskaya Street to Zemlyachka Street on the carriageway. For the time of the march, traffic was stopped.
