Advocate: students are forced to attend sessions on Amirov's case

The court sessions, where Said Amirov's case is considered are in fact held behind closed doors, since students of local universities are forced to fill in the seats in the courtroom, Vladimir Postanyuk, an advocate of the dismissed Mayor of Makhachkala, has reported today.

According to the lawyer, the court sessions on the Amirov's case should be held open, but two thirds of the seats in the courtroom are always occupied by university students, "who are forced to attend the trial."

"And other people – there are about 100 of them, – who really want to be present at the trial, cannot get into the courtroom," said the lawyer.

In the course of the today's session, Postanyuk has objected to the actions of the chairing judge, noting that "there is in fact no open trial." The advocate believes that the chairing judge should regulate the access of the people who really want to watch the trial.

Let us remind you that Said Amirov, the temporarily dismissed Mayor of Makhachkala, and his nephew Yusup Djaparov are charged with preparing a terror act and involvement in the murder of investigator Arsen Gadjibekov. Amirov treats these allegations as fabricated. Both defendants refuse to plead guilty.
