In Dagestan, advocate of detained Imam complains of non-admission to his client
Today Israfil Gadadov, an advocate of Felix Agaragimov, the Imam of the village of Kurkent, Suleiman-Stalsky District of Dagestan, who was detained on May 6 after a search of his house, has reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he is not allowed to meet his client.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the detention on May 6 of Felix Agaragimov, born in 1983, the Imam in the village of Kurkent, was announced by his brother Nagrudin Agaragimov. A source from the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) later confirmed the detention of Felix Agaragimov, saying that he was suspected of illegal possession of weapons (Article 222 of the Russian Criminal Code).
According to Israfil Gadadov, the investigator of the Suleiman-Stalsky ROVD (District Interior Division) is using various pretexts in order not to admit him to Felix Agaragimov.
"I suspect that all this time they are using illegal methods of investigation in relation to Agaragimov. Therefore, I petitioned the need for a forensic examination. On May 12, I addressed my three petitions to the investigator: about a forensic medical examination, about my admission to my client, and about providing me with the case files for reviewing," said the lawyer.
