Over ten persons wounded in fight in Sogratl, Gunib head reports
According to Murad Dibirov, the head of the village of Gunib, the centre of the Gunib District in Dagestan, more than ten people were wounded in a shootout with policemen near the village of Sogratl, located in this district. Local residents report that four persons were killed in the above fight.
The Gunib District was put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime.
Murad Dibirov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that all the wounded persons are in the Gunib District Hospital; and more ambulances have been sent to the venue.
"All the dead and wounded are local policemen of the ROVD (District Interior Division). According to the victims, as I understand, in the morning they were scouring the countryside near Sogratl, as allegedly there was information that someone had showed up there; but they found nobody. On their way back, they got into an ambush. Over ten were wounded, one of them is grave," said Murad Dibirov.
He suggested that the today's events may be associated with the blast of the monument in Sogratl. The obelisk in honour of the victims of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) was blown up at night on May 9.
