MIA: two locals detained in Chechnya for selling firearms
On May 19, in the Naursky District of Chechnya, policemen detained two men who tried to sell a batch of firearms, a representative of the Chief Department of the local MIA told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The suspects were revealed in the course of operative actions; and an operative agent played the role of a potential "buyer" of the weapons.
According to a Chechen police officer, both detainees are locals. Investigators have opened a criminal case and now find out the sources of several firearms.
Let us remind you that since 2004 a special government's resolution is in force in Chechnya, according to which the citizens, who voluntarily give out their illegally stored weapons and ammunition, are not only exempt from criminal responsibility, but may be eligible for a cash reward.
