On April 7, the case against Mamedli and his colleagues arrived in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes. On May 15, the judicial investigation was over.

According to the prosecutor Tariverdiev, during the trial the defendants' guilt was fully proved. He asked to find all the three defendants guilty on all the points of the indictment and to sentence Mamedli to 9, and Suleimanly and Mamedov – to 8.5 years in prison each.

Fariz Namazly, who is defending the rights of Mamedli, spoke in his closing word about the political motives in the case and demanded to completely acquit his client.
