Sochi: trial on policemen's lawsuit against Roman Shikarev to restart on May 28 because of changed claims
On May 22, the Khosta District Court of Sochi postponed the consideration of the lawsuit on protection of honour, dignity and business reputation of the Khosta ROVD (District Interior Division) to the human rights activist Roman Shikarev. Due to change of claims, the hearing will start anew on May 28.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the trial on the above lawsuit began in Sochi on April 25.
Then, on May 22, Alexander Bondarev, the head of the Khosta ROVD, brought amended claims and a petition to question witnesses; in this context, the judge announced the audience right in the corridor that the lawsuit would be complemented and considered from the start at the next session on May 28.
"Roman Shikarev had insulted not only me and not only the Khosta police. He spoke insultingly about the honour and dignity of the entire police forces; this the Sochi police have clarified their claims," Bondarev told.
Shikarev himself has noted that it is impossible to reach law enforcers; "they wouldn't hear or see us and our problems."
"I'd like to say good words about the police, but they still have to work well and protect the interests of the people and the law," said the human rights activist.
