Donetsk Mayor: residents of Chechnya are among 43 wounded in ATO
Hospitals of the city of Donetsk (Ukraine) are treating 43 persons who suffered in the course of the antiterrorist operation (ATO), including eight Russian citizens permanently residing in the cities of Grozny, Gudermes and Moscow, said the Mayor of Donetsk Alexander Lukyanchenko at a press conference held on May 27.
In the Donetsk Region, among members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), there are plenty of Caucasian natives. This was stated by Vladislav Seleznyov, the head of the operative group for informing of the ATO, on May 27, the online edition named "Ostrov" (Island) reports.
Let us note here that some armed men, who fight for the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, called themselves "Kadyrovtsy". "(We) are from the Russian Federation, defending the interests here; we're volunteers," one of them told CNN on 26 May in Donetsk.
Meanwhile, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has failed to confirm the presence of armed citizens of his republic in Eastern Ukraine. "If there are Chechens there, their presence is illegal. I don't know about it," the "Russia Today" TV Channel quotes Kadyrov as saying.
