Dagestani Prosecutor's Office challenges verdict to seven militants who surrendered under guarantees of Adaptation Commission

The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan has challenged the verdict passed to seven members of the "Southern" grouping of militants, who had surrendered under the guarantee of the Adaptation Commission of militants. The Prosecutor's Office treats the verdict pronounced by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Dagestan as too lenient. This was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by advocate Rasul Kadiev. Officials from the Supreme Court of Dagestan have reported that the Prosecutor's Office has filed an appeal submission.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 14, the Supreme Court of Dagestan pronounced the verdict against Fakhrudin Takhmezov, Temirlan Amirov, Arsen Isaev, Nariman Mirzamagomedov, Zaur Makhmudov, Zamir Agashirinov and Telman Gadjimustafaev. They were found guilty of a series of several serious crimes committed as a part of the "Southern" subversive and terrorist grouping. The defendants were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment from 2 years and 10 months up to 15 years of imprisonment.

"Most of the advocates were satisfied with the verdict. However, the Prosecutor's Office has appealed against it, since prosecutors treat the verdict as too lenient. Till present, we have not yet received a copy of the appeal," Rasul Kadiev has stated.
