At trial in Said Amirov's case, expert reports about psychological traumatic impact on prosecution witnesses

In Rostov-on-Don, at the trial in the case against Said Amirov, former Mayor of Makhachkala dismissed from office, accused of plotting a terror act, an expert in psychiatry has concluded that several prosecution witnesses were subjected to psychological traumatic impact. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent from the courtroom.

The North-Caucasian Military District Court has begun the today's court session with questioning Professor Iosif Kudryavtsev, Doctor of Medical and Psychological Sciences, the head of the Psychological Laboratory of the Research Institute of General and Forensic Psychiatry named after V. P. Serbsky (Moscow). The defence has invited the professor to assess the psychological state of a number of prosecution witnesses.

Professor Iosif Kudryavtsev has come to the conclusion that the five defendants were subjected to physical violence - according to them, they were forced to give confessions - and that influenced their minds and mental state.

The expert has recommended the court to hold a special comprehensive expert examination in order to determine procedural capability of those persons, since the psychological traumas mentioned by the professor are usually of long-term effect and character.
