Militants extorted money from head of electricity grid of Gergebil District, a local asserts

Members of the armed underground had extorted money from Gamzat Musaev, the head of the electricity grid of the Gergebil District of Dagestan, near whose house an explosion was triggered on May 28, a local told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. The press service of the Dagestani MIA has added that in October 2013, a grenade was found under the car near Musaev's the house.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above explosion occurred at the gate of Musaev's house in the evening on May 28; fortunately, nobody was hurt.

Musaev had repeatedly received "flash memory sticks" from militants, a Gergebil villager, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"I don't know the sum, but I know for sure that they extorted money from him. Musaev paid no attention to their demands and threats; and, apparently, they decided to show him their resoluteness," said the source, adding that during the explosion nobody was in the Musaev's house, which received minor damage.
