KBR's SC refuses to obey FMS and deport Syrian student

The Supreme Court (SC) of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has refused to overturn the decision of the Nalchik City Court on invalidating the cancellation of the residence permit in Russia of Nart Abaza, an ethnic Adyg and a Syrian national, a student of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 14 Nart Abaza filed a complaint to the court that on February 10 he had been deprived of his residence permit, on the basis of which he stayed in Russia. Abaza asked the court to declare illegal the actions of the Department for the KBR of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) of the Russian Federation and make the decision to restore his cancelled document. On April 7, the Nalchik City Court upheld the student's petition.

On April 7, the above FMS Department filed a complaint against the decision of the court.

On Wednesday, at a session of the SC, the FMS representative insisted that when receiving his residence permit, Abaza "had intentionally concealed the fact that earlier he had received his visa in violation of the law." In his turn, Nart Abaza claimed that he knew nothing about the violations.
