Astakhov: Rostov Region put under state of emergency due to inflow of refugees from Ukraine
Because of the great amount of refugees, some districts of the Rostov Region that border on Ukraine were put under the state of emergency, said Pavel Astakhov, the Ombudsman for Children's Rights in the Russian Federation, who makes his official visit to the region. According to the Deputy Governor, about seven thousand people came to the region from Ukraine only within the last 24 hours.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on Wednesday volunteers from the "Fraternal Help" reported that refugees from South-Eastern Ukraine continue arriving in the Rostov Region; on June 1-2 only, 76 people were accommodated in the camp of the Neklinov District; 300 more were expected.
By decision of the Governor Vasily Golubev, the state of emergency was introduced in 15 municipalities, said the Children's Ombudsman.
According to Vadim Artyomov, the Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region, the introduction of the state of emergency will allow attracting additional budget funds.
Meanwhile, Sergey Ivanov, the head of the administration of Russian President, said that a network of boarding houses is ready to accommodate refugees in the Rostov Region.
