About 50 people take part in action of "Mothers of Beslan" in support of population of South-Eastern Ukraine
The gym of School No. 1, ten years ago captured by terrorists, has housed an action organized by the "Mothers of Beslan" committee in support of residents of South-Eastern Ukraine, suffering from hostilities. The audience sent an appeal to the UN Security Council asking to help in settling the conflict in Ukraine.
Over 50 people came to the action – Beslan residents, including children.
Aneta Gadieva, a member of the committee, said that everyone is anxiously watching the developments in Ukraine; that is why they decided to address UN Security Council.
The "Mothers of Beslan" believe that the United Nations should take the responsibility for the establishment of peace in Ukraine. The authors of the letter "are concerned that in the event of further escalation of the situation, the country's civilian population may suffer, especially women and children." The victims of the 2004 terror act have urged the international community to contribute to the process of peaceful, non-violent conflict settlement.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 4, 15 districts of the Rostov Region, bordering on Ukraine, were put under the state of emergency. According to border guards, only on June 3, 11,417 citizens of Ukraine crossed the Russian border leaving their homeland.
