KBR: organizer of anti-Olympiad action denies charges of possessing live ammunition

Andzor Akhokhov, the organizer of the action against the Sochi Winter Olympics, held on February 7 in Nalchik, denies the accusation of storing combat cartridges and treats the criminal case opened against him as a method of pressure. According to the Nalchik UVD, the inquiry into Akhokhov's storing live ammunition is over; and the case was sent to the prosecutor's office.

On March 11, Akhokhov addressed the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) with a statement saying that on February 7, after he was detained, along with other protesters against the Olympiad that opened on that day in Sochi, he was tortured, and later – exposed to pressure from law enforcers.

"Andzor Akhokhov is suspected of keeping live rounds, which were found during a search of his house," Ruslan Shogenov, an investigator of the Nalchik UVD, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the lawyer Rustam Matsev, Akhokhov had addressed an independent expert organization asking to define whether he had been tortured by electric current after his detention.

As reported by Denis Eryomenko, an investigator of the Investigation Division for Nalchik of the Investigating Department for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) of the ICRF, now an inquiry is underway into Akhokhov's statement about torture.
