Nemtsov asks FSB to study reports about Chechen power agents crossing Ukrainian border

The politician Boris Nemtsov has sent a letter to Alexander Bortnikov, the head of the Russia's Federal Security Bureau (FSB) asking to deal with the reports that at night on May 27 armed men attempted to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border. According to his story, Chechen power agents, controlled by the FSB, broke into the territory of Ukraine and now fight on the side of local militias. The lawyer Igor Trunov believes that the letter will remain unanswered for several months, while the initiative itself is just a Nemtsov's PR action.

The letter of Boris Nemtsov, an MP of the Yaroslavl Regional Duma and a Co-Chairman of the Political Party "RPR-Parnas", was sent to Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Russia's FSB and published in Nemtsov's blog on the website of the "Echo Moskvy" Radio on May 30.

In his letter, the politician has accused Russian frontier guards of inaction and recalled the words of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov that there are no Chechen militaries in the territory of Ukraine.

"If the answer tells that nobody had crossed the border, it will be a lie, because there is clear evidence. If it says that when crossing the border armed men committed no violations of the law, it will mean that regular troops are in the territory of Ukraine, which is denied by President Putin," said Nemtsov and summed up: "Thus, any answer is unacceptable for the FSB; but for me it is also a revelatory answer – it is recognition of the presence of Russian combat units in Ukraine."
