In Dagestan, car bombing kills two persons

Today, two persons were killed in a car bombing in the Gunib District of Dagestan. This was reported by an official of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The incident has occurred at about 3:00 a.m. on the road Kupa-Gunib. A Lada-2112 car was exploded.

"The killed person has been identified as Mukhtar Agaev, born in 1968, a resident of the village of Sogratl. The second body has been very badly burned, and the victim has not been identified yet," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Rasul Temirbekov, Senior Assistant for Public Relations of the Chief of the ICRF's Dagestani Department.

According to the official of the ICRF's Dagestani Department, components of an explosive device were found at the place of explosion. "Judging from the damage, the improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in the passenger compartment. Perhaps, the killed persons were transporting an IED, and it detonated accidentally," he has noted.

According to unconfirmed information, perished Mukhtar Agaev was the leader of the Salafi community of the village of Sogratl. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a resident of the village, who preferred to remain anonymous.
