Law enforcers report liquidation of four militants in KBR's Baksan District

At night on June 10, in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), four members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) were killed near the city of Baksan. This was reported by an official from the law enforcement agencies of the KBR.

The source has reported that on June 9, at about 11:30 p.m. Moscow time, staff members of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) made an attempt to stop a VAZ-2114 car to check documents near the village of Islamei. However, the persons in the car opened fire on the policemen. As a result of the shootout, the car blew up.

According to the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), an improvised explosive device (IED) with power of two kilograms of TNT equivalent had detonated in the car.

"According to preliminary reports, the bodies of all the persons from the car have been identified as follows: Mukhamed Balagov, Adam Shigalugov, and Askerbi Khandokhov, natives of the Zolskoe District of the KBR, who had been on the wanted list for terrorist crimes; and the driver of the car Mukhamed Bagov, who was suspected of aiding and abetting militants. In the passenger compartment of the car, law enforcers found firearms and grenades," the news agency "Kabardino-Balkaria" quotes a KBR's law enforcer as stating.
