Armenian opposition puts forward 12 demands to authorities
The opposition factions of the Armenian Parliament, including the "Armenian National Congress" Party, the "Dashnaktsutyun" Party, the "Heritage" Party, and the "Prosperous Armenia" Party, have put forward 12 demands to the authorities, including the abolition of the mandatory component of the funded pension system and the issue on Nagorno-Karabakh.
On June 10, the opposition parties announced their statement. The very document has been approved after the 4-hour meeting held on June 2. The demands to the authorities include the issues on the internal policy, legislative amendments, and the activities of the government.
"Thus, we confirm that Armenia faces the time of changes and there is a need for change and improvement of the system," the Armenian online resource "Panorama.am" quotes Ruben Akopyan, the leader of the parliamentary faction of the "Heritage" Party.
In his turn, Levon Zurabyan, the leader of the parliamentary faction of the "Armenian National Congress", has emphasized that the government headed by Tigran Sarkisyan has resigned and "that means that the four opposition parties have achieved their goal."
