OSCE Secretary General visits Ukrainian refugee camp in Rostov Region
Today, the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier and Rasa Ostrauskaite, Deputy Director of the OSCE Centre for Conflict Prevention, arrived in the Rostov Region, where they visited the temporary accommodation centres (TACs) of Ukrainian refugees who came to the Rostov Region.
In total, as of June 11, 16 municipal formations of the region had accommodated 3070 citizens of Ukraine, including 1263 children, says the press service of the government of the Rostov Region.
The OSCE delegation has visited the health camp "Pioneer" and the "Dmitriadovsky" resort, located in the Neklinovsky District of the Rostov Region.
Lamberto Zannier met Ukrainian refugees and said that they need help from the relevant UN agencies, adding that the OSCE is ready to assist the negotiation process between the conflicting parties in Ukraine.
He also said that the newly elected President of Ukraine Pyotr Poroshenko wants prosperity for the country and is willing to strain all his effort for that. In response, refugees began shouting that they had not elected Poroshenko, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
