Observers from NGO "Transparency International-Georgia" fix 45 violations at voting

On June 15, the voting day in Georgia, the observers from the non-governmental organization (NGO) "Transparency International-Georgia" recorded 45 violations and filed 16 lawsuits, said Eka Gigauri, an activist of the NGO.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 15 Georgia elected its local self-government bodies. Four blocs and 20 parties ran for the seats there.

According to Eka Gigauri, the above violations "did not affect the election outcomes."

"We have fixed 30 serious and 15 relatively minor violations. Our observers filed 16 lawsuits," she said.

The monitoring of the voting process was conducted by 450 local observers of the NGO "Transparency International-Georgia". Apart from Tbilisi, 25 mobile groups monitored the process in five regions of Georgia, in 29 municipalities and self-governed cities.

Let us remind you that the Alliance "United Opposition" has stated in the course of the voting they registered the so-called "carousels", ballot paper thefts and use of violence. The oppositional party "United National Movement" (UNM) reported physical pressure on its observers. Specifically, on June 14, four activists of the NGO "Free Zone", which supports the UNM, were beaten up.
