Observers: election outcomes at several Georgian precincts should be abolished
Observers possess sufficient evidence for cancelling the election results at several precincts in Georgia, said Irma Pavliashvili and Arnold Stepanyan, activists of the NGOs "Association of Young Georgian Lawyers" and "Multinational Georgia", accordingly.
Irma Pavliashvili told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that all complaints were submitted not to the Prosecutor's Office, but to precinct election commissions.
Earlier, activists of the "United National Movement" (UNM) reported violations at polling stations in the Marneuli District of Georgia (region Kvemo Kartli). The voting results at municipal elections have already been invalidated by the Georgia's Central Election Commission (CEC) at two precincts in Marneuli.
The same should be done at several other precincts, said Irma Pavliashvili.
Activists of another NGO – the "Multinational Georgia" – are also submitting complaints to constituency and precinct election commissions. Arnold Stepanyan, the leader of this NGO, hopes that they "will manage to achieve fair decisions" on many of the complaints.
He added that a criminal case can be opened on the attack on an observer at the polling station in the town of Sagarejo.
A source from the CEC said that decisions on the complaints about violations received from the NGOs will be posted on the website of the CEC.
