Policemen refuse to reveal whereabouts of Makhachkala resident Batyr Charyev, his family asserts

Relatives of Batyr Charyev, a detained resident of Makhachkala, claim that the law enforcement agencies refuse to reveal his whereabouts.

Batyr Charyev, born in 1986, was detained in the evening of June 18, when he was returning home. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Naida Charyeva, the detainee's sister, a resident of Makhachkala.

According to the woman, the detainee's relatives address officials of the unit on duty of the Soviet ROVD (District Interior Division) and cannot get the information why Batyr Charyev had been detained. According to Naida Charyeva, in the nearest future, the detainee's relatives intend to hire an advocate to defend Batyr Charyev.

Batyr Charyev is kept at the Soviet ROVD, where law enforcers check him for possible involvement in militant groupings. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from a source from the above ROVD, who added that so far no charge has still been brought against the detainee.
