Law enforcers plant rounds on Makhachkala resident during search, his relatives assert

Batyr Charyev, who has been detained in Makhachkala, is suspected of aiding and abetting militants and of arms trafficking. This was reported by a source from law enforcement agencies. Relatives of Batyr Charyev suggest that law enforcers have planted rounds during the search.

Batyr Charyev, a resident of Makhachkala, was detained in the evening of June 18, when, according to his sister Naida Charyeva, he was returning home. The family members of Batyr Charyev claim that the law enforcement agencies refuse to reveal the detainee's whereabouts.

Detained Batyr Charyev was transferred to the Makhachkala IVS (temporary detention facility). The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by a source from the Soviet ROVD (District Interior Division). According to the source, in the nearest future, the court is to pronounce the form of the pre-trial restriction against the detainee. Batyr Charyev is suspected under Articles 222 (illegal possession of firearms) and Part 2 of Article 208 (aiding and abetting members of illegal armed formations (IAFs)) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the detainee' sister Naida Charyeva, Batyr Charyev is married, and he takes care of minor children. He has a steady job, and he has no criminal records. Naida Charyeva has clarified that in the nearest future she intends to appeal for help to human rights organizations, since she is confident in the unlawfulness of the charges against her brother.
