Dagestani SC upholds administrative arrest of mother of three children

The Supreme Court of Dagestan has upheld the decision of the Khasavyurt City Court on administrative arrest of Aisha Abakarova, a volunteer of the Charity Foundation "Be Merciful", despite the fact that she is a mother of minor children. The appeal filed by Sadiyat Arslanova, another activist, will be considered separately. This was reported by advocate Mansur Sepikhanov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 7, volunteers Sadiyat Arslanova and Aisha Abakarova were brought to the Khasavyurt police station from a bank building. On May 8, the Khasavyurt City Court sentenced them to three-day administrative arrest for disobedience to a policeman (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code). On May 16, the volunteers' advocates filed the appeals against the verdict to a higher court instance.

According to the advocate, the judge has read out only the operative part of his decision and failed to read out the motivation part. The defender has added that the court has not yet scheduled consideration of the appeal of volunteer Sadiyat Arslanova.
