Lawyer Magomedova demands to make Makhachkala SIZO staff liable for forcing her client to reject advocate
The lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova, who is representing the interests of Magomed Aliev, suspect of robbery, has applied to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) against the physical pressure put on her client at SIZO-1 (pre-trial prison) of Makhachkala with the aim to force him to reject the advocate.
On March 28, Magomed Aliev sent an application to the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the ICRF stating that on March 17 he was beaten up in the Makhachkala SIZO. On June 20, his advocates reported that Aliev continued experiencing pressure from the staff of SIZO-1.
In her application, Magomedova asks to react and prosecute employees of SIZO-1, whom Aliev can identify. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has a copy of the document, which reads that SIZO employees had repeatedly "used torture and put physical and psychological pressure on Aliev to force him to reject his advocates."
