Policeman shot dead in Chechnya
As reported by the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), today, in the centre of Grozny, an employee of the patrol-and-post service (PPS) was shot dead in the back of his head.
The incident occurred in a crossover in the Lenin District of Grozny. According to the MIA, the policeman stopped a suspicious man and asked to show the content of his bag and to present his ID. While he checked the bag, the man made a shot in his head.
The 39-year-old ensign died on the spot. "The offender fled the scene, stealing the service pistol of the casualty," the MIA has added.
The Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov promised a reward of 10 million roubles to anyone who will help to capture the attacker. "Whoever kills the bandit in case of his resistance will be decorated with the Order of Kadyrov and an expensive gift," the head of Chechnya wrote in his Instagram.
