HRC "Memorial": refugee camp in Novoshakhtinsk receives 200-300 people daily

Today, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has reported that every day up to 200-300 people, mostly women and children, arrive in the refugee camp organized in Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov Region, the capacity of which is 48 persons.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 22, 31 out of total 55 municipalities of the Rostov Region were put under the state of emergency due to the inflow of refugees from Ukraine.

A large stream of people with bags and suitcases flows across the border. A lack of vehicles to transport people is felt. Transportation companies provide buses for free, but there are very few of them, says the June 24 release of the HRC received today by the "Caucasian Knot".

The camp lacks specialists and has no doctors and policemen, said Anna Serdyukova, the lawyer of the Network "Migration and Law".

According to the information of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), as on June 23, 980 Ukrainian refugees were placed in four field camps in the Rostov Region within the last 24 hours.

In total, 48 municipalities of the Rostov Region have taken 13,207 people, including 5066 children, the website of the MfE of the Rostov Region reported on June 23.
