Dagestani photographer offers Makhachkala residents to look at their city "through Van Gogh's eyes"
The Makhachkala History Museum hosts the exhibition entitled "BRO. Makhachkala. Van Gogh". In his artworks, a Dagestani photographer nicknamed BRO reflected his vision, how Vincent van Gogh would depict Makhachkala. Viewers who visited the exhibition highly appreciated the originality of the artist's idea and the presented result. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"The idea of the project is very interesting and original. And, as far as I know, none of the artists has ever done anything like that. The author of the project photographed the city of Makhachkala during many years, and then, he used PC software to stylize his photographs to the Vincent Van Gogh's manner," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Zarema Dadaeva, Director of the Makhachkala History Museum and supervisor of the exhibition.
The exhibition comprises 101 artworks, including landscapes, still-life photographs, and portraits. The exhibition was opened on June 19, and it will last until July 15.
