In Makhachkala, combat engineers defuse powerful bomb

In Makhachkala, combat engineers have defused an explosive device that was planted near a house of a local resident engaged in the production of fodder for livestock. This was reported by an official of the Operational Headquarters.

According to him, the incident occurred in Gazoprovodnaya Street of the Dagestani capital.

An item resembling a bomb was found near the gates of the house belonging to the local resident. The combat engineers, who arrived in the place, confirmed that was a bomb. They defused it in the place.

"The bomb power was 1.5 kilograms of TNT equivalent," the "ITAR-TASS" quotes the official of the Operational Headquarters as stating.

Law enforcers do not rule out that the explosive device might be planted to the local resident's house, since the entrepreneur failed to pay "toll" to militants. This was reported by the official of the Operational Headquarters of the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) for Dagestan.

According to the preliminary information, the entrepreneur received threats from members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), who demanded from him to give them money for the militants' needs.
