Refugees from Ukraine are satisfied with living conditions in KBR (+video)

The refugees from Ukraine who arrived in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) report that local residents and authorities render them all the necessary assistance and create comfortable living conditions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 18, 79 refugees from Ukraine, mostly women and children, came to the KBR. In total, according to official data, the KBR plans to accommodate up to 500 refugees from Ukraine.

The accommodation expenses are covered from the republic's budget, a source from the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to refugees, they receive help from public organizations, political parties and individual citizens. They bring humanitarian aid to them.

"Locals provide us with everything we need. Yesterday, for example, they brought a baby buggy to us," Irina Antonenko, who arrived from the Lugansk Region, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"We did not expect such a reception," a Ukrainian citizen named Ekaterina, who arrived in Nalchik, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The republic has set up an operational office to deal with the issues of refugees' social welfare. The Women's Council of Nalchik is also gathering humanitarian aid for refugees.
