Advocate is not admitted to suspects of committing terror act in Pyatigorsk for six months, defence reports

Gadjimurad Izmailov, a lawyer from the Bar Association "Kavkaz" says that from the moment he entered the case as a defender of two suspects of committing a terror act near the GIBDD (traffic police) building Pyatigorsk on December 27, 2013, he cannot meet his clients.

According to Izmailov, since January 13, he represents the interests of Shamil Abdulazizov and Magomed Ibragimov, residents of Khasavyurt.

"I've been in the case for half a year, but I was unable to visit my clients in their detention. The investigator in charge of the case is deliberately not inviting the advocates, who were hired for the case, to take part in investigatory actions, by replacing them for the appointed lawyers, who sign whatever they are asked to," the lawyer believes.

Dibir Nabiev, another advocate in the Pyatigorsk blast case, who is representing the interests of Shamil Gazimagomedov, a resident of Khasavyurt, told that from the moment of his entry into the case in January 2014 only in June he could meet his client.

"Gazimagomedov refused to admit his guilt of the incriminated crimes; moreover, he said that he had been exposed to illegal methods of inquiry – he was tortured. When he was tortured, the investigator asked the state (appointed) advocate to go out into the corridor; and then she returned and signed whatever the investigator asked for," said Dibir Nabiev.
