NAC reports on liquidation of "Tabasaran" militant in special operation in Dagestan
In Dagestan, a militant, who was blocked in a private house in the village of Zakhit of the Khiv District, refused to surrender and opened fire on law enforcers. Then, he was killed. This was reported by the press centre of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC). The casualty was preliminarily identified. According to law enforcers, during the negotiations, the militant allowed nine persons, including children, to leave the house, cordoned off by the law enforcers.
When offered to surrender, the man, who remained in the blocked house, opened fire. And he was killed as a result of a brief battle. This was reported by an official of the NAC.
"The militant was pre-identified as S. Velikhanov, born in 1969, a member of the 'Tabasaran' militant grouping," the "Interfax" quotes the NAC's official as saying.
During the special operation, no civilians and no law enforcers suffered, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
