FMS: 20 Ukrainian citizens apply for temporary asylum in Dagestan

At present, 111 refugees from the eastern regions of Ukraine are accommodated in the territory of Dagestan. Of them, 20 refugees have filed applications for temporary asylum in the republic. This was reported by Radjab Abdulatipov, Chief of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) for the Republic of Dagestan. Thus, according to the official, the period of their stay in the region will not be restricted.

"I want to stay in Russia," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Svetlana Romanenko, a resident of Lugansk, when she was explaining her decision. The woman arrived in Dagestan with her two children. And the refugee continued: "As for Dagestan, if my child is provided with a place in a kindergarten, I find a job, and we get housing fit for living, even not at once, then why not?"

The refugee camp was visited by officials representing the Dagestani authorities. This was reported by Sergey, a resident of Lugansk, who preferred to remain anonymous. According to his story, the authorities have promised to provide the refugee camp with free internet access and communication with Ukraine.

Residents of Dagestan have responded to the call of charitable foundations to provide assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs). So, volunteers from the charity foundation "Chistoe Serdtse" (Clean Heart) have brought humanitarian aid for refugees, including food and hygiene products and baby food. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
