Rostov Region to use Cossack units to protect refugees from Ukraine

The region is forming Cossack squadrons to protect the TACs (temporary accommodation centres) and camps of refugees from Ukraine; a respective agreement has been reached between local officials and the Cossack Society named "All-Great Don Army". Cossacks already guarding the TACs, said the spokeswoman for the Society.

The agreement was signed on June 24 by Evgeny Lugantsev, the Chairman of the Board of the Association "Council of Municipal Formations of Rostov Region", and Cossack Colonel Victor Goncharov, the Ataman of the Cossack Society "All-Great Don Army".

Practically all districts of the Rostov Region have accommodated refugees from Ukraine; and Cossacks are already guarding their camps, as Lyudmila Bondar from the press centre of the "All-Great Don Army" told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, adding that "our Cossacks are also cooperating with border guards in controlling the border with Ukraine."
