Dagestan: defendant who disagreed with jury's verdict tries to commit suicide
Rashidkhan Djambalov, accused of killing a taxi driver, has disagreed with the decision of jurymen that he was guilty, tried to commit suicide. It is assumed that the case will be sentenced on August 6.
Let us note here that on June 5, at the Supreme Court of Dagestan, a jury found Rashidkhan Djambalov, Aziz Bolachev and Magomed Datashev guilty of killing Arslan Gapuev, a taxi driver from the village of Toturbiykala in the Khasavyurt District.
Temirkhan Dadavov, the defendants' advocate, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Djambalov disagrees with the jury's decision and tried to commit suicide: "He made a suicide attempt by stabbing his lung with a nail. Now, he is treated at the hospital unit of Colony No. 2 located in the Makhachkala village of Shamkhal."
Dadavov said that no investigation was initiated into the fact of the attempted suicide. So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of the Dagestani Department of the FSIN (Russia's Federal Penitentiary Service) on the advocate's statement.
