Azerbaijani native Orkhan Zeinalov refuses to confess of killing Moscow resident Yegor Scherbakov
Orkhan Zeinalov, a native of Azerbaijan, accused of the murder of Yegor Scherbakov, a resident of Moscow District of Biryulyovo, has pleaded not guilty in the Moscow City Court. However, the defendant has claimed he understands the indictment filed against him.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 29, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office approved the indictment against 29-year-old Orkhan Zeinalov, who had criminal record. The indictment has been filed under Article "murder committed out of hooligan motives."
Public prosecutors have read out the indictment and questioned Vladimir Scherbakov, the Yegor Scherbakov's father, who was recognized to be a victim party during the preliminary investigation. The public prosecutors have also questioned two witnesses, including Anton Scherbakov, an older brother of the murdered mad. All the prosecution witnesses have described Yegor Scherbakov as a peaceful person, who never experienced negative emotions towards people of other nationalities.
The next court hearing is scheduled for July 1. The public prosecutors are to continue questioning witnesses, and the Court is likely to consider the written materials of the criminal case.
