Derbent residents report on shootout throughout all night of June 26

Residents of the city of Derbent have reported on the long-lasting shooting, evacuation of a residential neighbourhood and electricity cut-off during the special operation, held in Derbent at night of June 26. According to the Derbent residents, the combat actions lasted all the night, and the shots were fired from large-calibre weapons.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 25, in Derbent, law enforcers cordoned off a residential house located in Narimanov Street. According to the law enforcement agencies, after the negotiations, two women left the house. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), during the special operation, Malik Ulubekov, a member of the "Sogratl" militant grouping, was killed.

Prior to the start of the special operation, the law enforcers have evacuated the whole block of the nearby private houses. This was reported by Farid G., a resident of Derbent. The city resident has added that the cordon was lifted after 3:00 p.m., and evacuated residents were able to return to their houses.

According to a source from the Derbent GOVD (City Interior Division), the mother and the common-law wife of the killed militant have surrendered to the police prior to the start of the special operation. The women were detained for questioning.
