ICRF: prisoner in Adygea was killed before the eyes of prison staff

The inmate of Corrective Colony No. 1, located in the village of Tlyustenkhabl in the Republic of Adygea, died from beatings. A group of other inmates is suspected of inflicting his fatal injuries. Three prison employees knew that the crime was being committed, but they failed to take measures to prevent it, says the Investigating Department (ID) for Adygea of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

On June 28, several inmates of CC-1 inflicted numerous injuries to the man, who died from them the next day, says the official website of the ID of the ICRF. According to investigators, the casualty was beaten up with fists and feet, while two colony employees were present without interfering.

Investigating authorities have opened a criminal case against two junior inspectors of the safety supervision division and the on duty assistant to the colony head under Part 2, Article 293 of the Criminal Code – negligence that led to manslaughter.
