Sochi resident complains about absence of invalids' access to Mayoralty officials

Tatiana Kapustina, a wheelchair Category I invalid from Sochi, has stated that she could not get to the appointment at the Mayoralty, because her car was not let into the yard, equipped for disabled people. The police patrol, which prevented her entry, said that she had no necessary document. The lawyer Alexander Boichenko regards the incident as a violation of the Constitution and the rights of an invalid to have unhindered access to social structure objects.

The issue with which Kapustina wanted to contact the Mayoralty refers to the situation with her house, which is unfit for residence as a result of the construction of Olympic facilities.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was an eyewitness of the due reason for Tatiana Kapustina's complaints: policemen did not let her car provided with the sign "Invalid" by dropping the passage barrier. However, other cars were freely admitted to the Mayoralty.

Alexander Boichenko, the head of the Sochi branch of the Moscow Bar Association, believes that "the Mayoralty is obliged to provide special park places for invalids."

Let us remind you that on June 4 Kapustina tried to address in person to the Sochi City Prosecutor Mark Bolshedvorsky and ask for defence of her rights as an invalid from childhood and Category I wheelchair invalid. However, due to lack of the ramp, the woman could not get to the Prosecutor's office.
