Volgograd Region put under SoE due to inflow of refugees from Ukraine

On July 1, the state of emergency (SoE) was introduced in the Volgograd Region because of the dense inflow of Ukrainian citizens from the warfare are, the regional government has reported.

According to the regional authorities, as of June 30, the region had received more than 2500 Ukrainian citizens.

Andrei Bocharov, the acting regional governor, signed the SoE introduction since 6 p.m. on July 1, according to the website of the regional government.

According to the local authorities, as of July 1, about 5000 Ukrainian citizens were on migration registration in the Volgograd Region is already, including 921 people who applied for assistance to social care bodies.

The declared SoE will allow attracting more forces and resources of the territorial system of prevention and liquidation of emergencies to help citizens of Ukraine. Besides, it will be easier to interact for the authorities at all levels in providing refugees with accommodation, food and medical care.
