Killer of Chechen policeman was sent by Dagestani militants, law enforcers assert

As reported by a source from law enforcement bodies of Chechnya, the killer of the policeman in Grozny, who was searched by power agents, was shot dead while rendering armed resistance in the Staropromyslovsky District of the Chechen capital; nobody was hurt from among law enforcers. According to the source, the casualty was a native of Dagestan.

On Thursday, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov reported the liquidation at detention of the person, suspected of killing on June 22 of Akhmed Dopaev, an employee of the patrol-and-post service. A pistol was found on the casualty and sent for examination.

The head of a local NGO expressed surprise at the paucity of information about the circumstances of the operation. He said: "Nobody knows how and under what circumstances this man was killed, and whence the power agents know that he was exactly that very killer. Now, a political motive has appeared in the killing of the above policeman."

According to his story, now information is spread in the republic that the killer of Dopaev had been sent to Grozny with an order to commit a terror act against Ramzan Kadyrov; and he had links both with the militants and the leadership of one of the districts of the neighbouring republic.
