On July 9, the Supreme Court of Dagestan plans to consider the appeal complaint against the verdict passed to Zarema Bagavutdinova, an activist of the DRPO "Pravozaschita", who was sentenced to five years in prison on charges of promoting the terrorist activities, said her advocate.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the verdict to Bagavutdinova was handed down by the court n Buynaksk on May 21. She was found guilty of recruiting, back in November 2011, of Mamma Dalgatov, a native of Dagestan, for participation in the armed underground. The state prosecution asked for six years in prison for her. Earlier, her advocate announced her intention to appeal against the verdict.

The case has many inconsistencies, which were disregarded by the Buynaksk City Court, said the lawyer Ziyautdin Uvaisov, who was provided to defend Bagavutdinova by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".

Earlier, the HRC "Memorial" recognized Bagavutdinova as a political prisoner, persecuted because of her public activities.
