Sergey Tsapok found dead in Krasnodar SIZO
Sergey Tsapok, convicted for organizing a massacre in the village of Kuschevskaya, was found dead in a cell of the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of Krasnodar, the territorial ID of the ICRF has reported today. No traces of violent death were found on his body; and the preliminary reason thereof is a heart failure, said the FSIN (Russia's Federal Penitentiary Service).
Sergey Tsapok was convicted to life imprisonment on charges of a massacre committed in the village of Kuschevskaya, KrasnodarTerritory, in November 2010. The court found him and five other defendants guilty of the above mass murder and several other grave crimes; additionally, Tsapok was found guilty of managing a criminal gang. None of the convicts had pled guilty.
Tonight, Sergey Tsapok was found dead in solitary cell of the SIZO-1 of Krasnodar, where he was placed because of appealing against the verdict, the ID for the KrasnodarTerritory of the ICRF reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 4 another convict in this case – Igor Chernykh – was found hung in a solitary cell of the same SIZO-1 of Krasnodar. According to preliminary data, he committed suicide, said the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the KrasnodarTerritory.
