Natalia Miller: victims of Kuschevskaya massacre insist on genetic examination of Sergey Tsapok's body
In the Krasnodar Territory, the victims in the criminal case against the organized crime grouping from the Cossack village of Kuschevskaya have sent an appeal to the Investigating Department for the Krasnodar Territory of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). In their appeal, the victims insist on a genetic examination and their personal involvement in the identification of the body of Sergey Tsapok, the deceased leader of the criminal grouping. This was reported by advocate Natalia Miller on July 7.
Sergey Tsapok was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of massacre committed in the Cossack village of Kuschevskaya in the Krasnodar Territory in November 2010. On July 7, Sergey Tsapok was found dead in a one-man cell in the SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 1 of Krasnodar, where he was kept after his defence had appealed against his sentence. According to the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN), the preliminary cause of his death was a heart failure.
According to advocate Natalia Miller, the victims want to see with their own eyes that the death of Sergey Tsapok was not a falsehood.
"The victims do not exclude that at SIZO No. 1 of Krasnodar, the body of Sergey Tsapok could be replaced by a body of some person with similar appearance. Therefore, we insist not only on our involvement in the process of identification, but also on a genetic examination," the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" quotes the advocate as saying.
