Law enforcers unblock Dagestani village of Maidanskoe, local residents report

In the Untsukul District of Dagestan, law enforcers have left the village of Maidanskoe. This was reported by local residents in the evening of July 9.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning of July 6, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Untsukul District of Dagestan. Law enforcers cordoned off the villages of Zirani, Balakhani, and Maidanskoe. The local residents claimed that the village of Maidanskoe had been completely blocked and that no one was allowed to leave it. According to law enforcement bodies, on July 6, in Maidanskoe, five suspected militants were killed. On July 8, two more were liquidated. All the casualties were identified; and two of them had been on the wanted list. This was reported by the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). During the special operation, the law enforcers blew up eight houses in the village of Maidanskoe, including the building of medrese. The villagers have also complained about the detention and beating of the Imam and the head of the village administration.

In the evening of July 9, the law enforcers unblocked the village of Maidanskoe and left it. This was reported by the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft) with reference to local residents.

Earlier, in the morning on July 9, it became known that law enforcers found several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Maidanskoe, submachine guns, pistols, and a tubular grenade launcher. The found IEDs were defused by combat engineers. This was reported on July 9 by the RSBC (Republic State Broadcasting Company) "Dagestan".
