Militants claim responsibility for killing ex-head of Kizilyurt GOVD and policeman near Khasavyurt
As reported by statements posted on the websites that support North-Caucasian militants, the latter took responsibility for assassinating Aitemir Salimgereev, the former head of the GOVD (City Interior Division) of Kizilyurt, and a police major in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Police Colonel Aitemir Salimgereev was killed on July 9 in his house in one of the suburban communities of Kizilyurt. According to the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), he was severely tortured before they killed him.
One of the websites, which support the armed underground of Northern Caucasus, informs that the attack was committed by militants.
Supporters of the armed underground had accused Salimgereev of being an employee of the Centre for Combating Extremism, and, while heading the Kizilyurt GOVD, he persecuted Muslims. Therefore, he had been long hunted for, says one of information resources of the armed underground.
Also, militants have claimed responsibility for the murder of a policeman in the Khasavyurt District on July 9.
