In Dagestan, leader of anti-corruption board "Atly-Boyun" treats search of his house as intimidation attempt

Today, the house of Gadjigishi Bambatov, the chairman of the Dagestani organization "Atly-Boyun Public Anti-Corruption Board", located in the Leninkent neighbourhood of Makhachkala, was searched. Bambatov claims that the search was an attempt to put pressure and intimidate him to force him to give up his struggle with land frauds.

"Our Leninkent land is sold out to the right and to the left; and as soon as we try to prevent it, they start putting pressure on us. This search was undertaken shortly after I wrote a letter to the Mayor of Makhachkala about the illegal sale of a school garden. I'm sure that these events are interconnected," the leader of the "Atly-Boyun" assured.

"I plan to consult a lawyer and sue the initiators of this search with a demand to compensate moral harm," said Gadjigishi Bambatov.

The press service of the Dagestani MIA has refused to comment on the situation with the search of Bambatov's house, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
