Three checkpoints on border with Ukraine reopened in Rostov Region
The checkpoints "Gukovo", "Donetsk" and "Novoshakihtinsk", located on the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Rostov Region, have resumed their work, Vasily Malaev, the official representative of the Frontier Service of the FSB for the Rostov Region, said today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported with reference to the FSB that the work of the checkpoints was suspended because of the ongoing fire in the immediate vicinity of the border. The personnel of the "Gukovo" were evacuated because of mine explosions in the close vicinity.
Let us remind you that after the annexation of the Crimea by Russia, armed clashes broke out in the Donetsk and Lugansk Regions of Ukraine.
On July 11, the confrontation epicentre approached close to the state border, the Border Service of Ukraine confirms and asserts that with the aim to provoke a Russia's direct aggression against Ukraine the self-proclaimed republics are periodically shelling the Russian territory, says the message posted on July 11 on the website of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
In its turn, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said that on July 10 the checkpoint "Gukovo" was shelled by artillery as a result of actions of the Ukrainian power bodies.
