MCC completes judicial investigation into Yegor Scherbakov's murder in Biryulyovo
The Moscow City Court (MCC) has completed the judicial investigation into the murder of Yegor Scherbakov, a resident of the Moscow district of Biryulyovo; the parties' debates are scheduled for July 21. During the today's session, the prosecution has presented additional evidence of the guilt of the defendant Orkhan Zeinalov in the form of the video from the scene of the crime recorded by CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the trial on Scherbakov's murder began at the MCC on June 30. The defendant refused to plead guilty. On July 10, the Prosecutor's Office completed the presentation of the proofs of Zeinalov's guilt.
The today's session watched CCTV records, where it could be seen that a man, similar in appearance to the defendant, followed first one girl and then the second one, very similar in appearance to Ksenia Popova, Yegor Scherbakov's girlfriend.
The defendant has reiterated his innocence.
Let us note here that earlier Zeinalov's advocate had asserted that his client could not be present at the scene on the night of the murder. However, the above Ksenia Popova identified Zeinalov as the man who fought with Scherbakov and inflicted a mortal blow on him.
